There seems to be a lot of confusion over what Cloud Computing actually is...And that is amongst the professionals...I wonder how long it will take for the average Joe Bloggs to understand the cloud computing concept and what the benefits are. Those in the industry obviously know about cloud computing, in fact the cloud computing concept has been around for years, we just didn't have the infrastructure to support it. With increasingly fast broadband connections and download speeds, it is now feasible to do your work in the cloud and to compute remotely. But you're right, despite this concept being around for such a long time, If you stopped 10 people in the street and asked them if they knew what cloud computing was....9 out of 10 would probably say no, and the 10th guy would be more technical than your average Joe Bloggs.

Do the same survey in 5 years and I think the results will be very different!
